Rehabilitative braces comprise bars, hinges and foam liners. These hinged braces control or limit the freedom of movement of the affected knee while it is healing from a meniscus injury. Unloader/offloader braces are recommended for people suffering from degenerative joint disorders besides the aforementioned braces. These take away the load from the affected knee joint and reduce pain.

I'm 17 and I also have arthritis, I was diagnosed when I was 11 and knee braces have worked really well for me in the past. If you are still feeling pain in your knee then you might need to have some physical therapy – I had to do some pt a few years ago and it really helped me out. If you dont think you necessarily need pt then before you go on a run, give your knee a little rub down and make sure its nice and loose

It sounds as if you may have injured your knee. Try a knee brace and take ibuprofen about 20 minutes before you run. Eat a piece of bread before taking 2 ibuprofen tablets (Motrin, Advil or any store brand). Drink plenty of fluids, too. Many people find that swinging your leg back and forth, bending at the knee, will help to get those natural lubricants pumping. If the pain continues or becomes worse, see a doctor. You may need more extensive therapy.
